Living in a gated community has its perks. It’s genuinely nice that I am blessed enough to be able to live in a nice town with our family. I love that there is an added measure of security. The golf course & club beach house are pretty cool too. I have even been known to wander to one of the ponds & fish a while with our young son. I prefer coming lake house to a perfect Heating, Ventilation, & A/C controlled home. There are indeed various excellent points to be made about a gated community. However, putting up with an HOA that borders on silly is not one of the things I care about about living here. They just seem to get so totally mental over the smallest things. I get that the people I was with and I all want to maintain property values & have a lovely looking town but, our HOA just goes way overboard. I have received many letter about the color of our Heating, Ventilation, & A/C. The HOA is all up in arms because the condenser cupboard of the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C unit is faded from the sun. Our Heating, Ventilation, & A/C is older however has been superbly took care of. So, the people I was with and I won’t be replacing it for another year or many at least. I agree the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C cupboard outside our lake house is a bit faded. I provided to paint it. But, that is not nearly enough for the HOA. They are threatening myself and others with thoUSnds of dollars in fines if I don’t replace it or build an approved fence. There is no way that is ever happening. Happy to paint the thing however that’s as far as the people I was with and I go. Beyond that, they can care about banging it out with our mean lawyer.
