The new HVAC would not be ready for installation for over 3 weeks.
My worst fears was that our heating and cooling system would fail at just the worst time. I was rewarded by having that very fear realized. At the beginning of August, I woke up in the middle of the night sweating. I knew right away that the HVAC had failed. There wasn’t much point in calling anyone until the morning so, I just broke out the fans. It was a long night. We are in a part of the country where serious air conditioning issues exist. The summer here can be just brutal. So, the air conditioning is running for at least 6 months of the year. I had some idea that this HVAC fail was coming considering the heating and cooling tech told me to expect it. I saw the signs myself. The utility bill was skyrocketing and the HVAC seemed to be running all the time in an effort to simply keep up with demand. I just got greedy wanting to get one more summer out of our old HVAC before I invested in a new one. Calling the HVAC company was the only thing I could do. Man, was my family ever mad at me. The HVAC contractor came out and he was awesome. That man spent as much time as I needed to find a replacement that would fit our needs, as well as, fit our budget. However, there was a big issue. The new HVAC would not be ready for installation for over 3 weeks. He must have seen my reaction. How was I gonna break that one to the family? So, he went back to the office and picked up 3 portable air conditioners for us to place around our house. And, he did this without charging us a dollar.
