fond memories of HVAC

I have spent nearly a decade being completely and totally perplexed on how the the air flows inside our home from the outside.

It has had myself and others baffled since literally the first month the two of us moved in. Whether it’s Wintertide or summer, this wonderful beach house was just unable to hold any kind of consistent indoor temperature throughout the whole house. I ruled out direct sun heating, nasty drafts due to terrible insulation and undersized Heating and A/C systems serving the large space. And yet, the two of us would still continually experience unfortunate sizzling and cold spots throughout the beach house basically all year long. The Heating and A/C is hardly the major concern as it was upgraded when the former owners put the old home on the market. The internet was awash with possible problems after that and dubious solutions. But, I suppose I know precisely what the initial concern is. I just didn’t know how to maintenance it for us. The previous owners did quite a bit of renovation on their own accord. They had a growing family so, they put up multiple interior walls in order to create study rooms. This ruined the calculated ventilation plan the Heating and A/C dealer had worked up when the home’s original Heating and A/C component was first installed. Then all of a sudden one afternoon, while I was napping in our chair, it just came to me in a dream. I remembered a vacation lake beach house from our beloved youth. It had these little fans built into the walls to pull the prized cool air through to the rest of the space. I looked for these exact same fans and found them! They are called room to room ventilators. I quickly put these little fans in multiple of the interior walls to see what would happen to my space. They worked perfectly and now our home has incredibly consistent indoor temperature no matter where you are in the home.
