Most of my prior relationships have been a bit predictable and unwise.

It’s difficult for me to feel very challenged or impressed by other humans, so I think that I get jaded very quickly and prepared to move on with great efficiency. This time, however, I think that I’m doing things differently. In fact, I think that my boyfriend these days is completely different than the other people I’ve been with. For starters, I think he’s actually tougher than I am. In my past I’ve been the significant other responsible for taking care of everyone. Now, I’m with somebody confident and capable enough to do all the work. Recently, we decided to go on a quick camping trip which was a fairly new experience for me. I was extremely worried about the climate for our camping expedition, but my boyfriend had no concerns with the uneven hot and cold temperatures that we were expecting. He told me that we didn’t need to worry about the outdoor air temperature because he would make sure we were toasty warm the whole time. Well, he delivered on his promise to provide plenty of heat. He continually had a roaring fire burning in the campsite and provided a few small space heaters for additional warmth. The only problem was, my threshold for cold temperatures is clearly much lower than his. I’m sure the camping trip was warm enough for his tough body, but mine was frigid cold the entire time.
