I had the HVAC system running, but I wasn’t getting any heating into the new bedroom. I was really worried that something major was going wrong with my furnace, since there was no way I was getting any heat coming from the air vents. I called my husband and asked if he thought I should call the HVAC company or if he wanted me to wait until he got home. We decided to wait for him to get home in case it was just that the air vent may be blocked. When he got home, he took the cover off the air vent and checked to see if there was anything that could be blocking the airflow. When he didn’t find anything, he went to get the vacuum cleaner so he could try to clean the air vent out, but all he could get was some dust. He went to the phone and called the HvAC company. I heard him telling them about not getting any airflow to the bedroom. He also told them that we had tried to find a blockage of the airflow, but nothing was in the air vent. The HVAC company came out and checked out the air vent and he did some measuring downstairs. He said the new bedroom was too far away from the furnace to be able to get enough heat. We had a special fan installed into the ductwork so that when the heat came on, the fan would force the heat into that part of the ductwork and we would have heat.
