I used to buy a new furnace every 2 years or so because mine would stop working very well.
I didn’t even ask my HVAC technician what was wrong, I just assumed that most people were also replacing their HVAC systems frequently. When I last had my furnace replaced my friend was there and asked how long I had had my furnace. I told her that I had only had the heater for a year or two and she was amazed that I had an HVAC technician installing a new one! I asked her how long her furnace lasted and she said it’s been about 5 years. I couldn’t believe her when she said her furnace lasted so much longer than mine, so I went to the internet to learn more about HVAC. I realized that I wasn’t taking care of my furnace, and I had also not had a very good HVAC technician. I didn’t get any kind of HVAC inspection agreement from my HVAC technician and I think that’s why I was running into problems. If you ever have to get a new furnace as much as I was, then you should be weary of your HVAC technician. The same friend that told me her HVAC system lasted triple mine gave me the number to the HVAC business she uses. Now I know that I just have to change the air filters and do some light maintenance to keep my furnace running smooth. I have a service agreement for my entire HVAC system and I even installed a smart thermostat which monitors my entire system!
