My ductwork is disintegrating

I wanted to ask how much it was going to cost to have the ductwork replaced, but the question didn’t really matter

I was standing in my living room the other day and I could feel a draft going through the house. I was really concerned that I had a broken window, or something wrong with my HVAC system. I noticed that the air quality wasn’t nearly as good as it once was. I also noticed that we had a problem with the furnace running too much and I wasn’t getting enough heating. I worried that I needed a new furnace, even though this furnace was barely five years old. We had all of our HVAC maintenance done on a regular basis, and our air filters were changed regularly. This was our way of taking care of our HVAC system. I called the HVAC company knowing that I had to find out the problem with the HVAC system, before worrying about the draft, which I knew wasn’t a broken window. When the HVAC technician showed up, the first thing he did was to check the ductwork. He told me that the ductwork was disintegrating and that our draft was because there wasn’t any airflow due to all of the holes in my ductwork. I wanted to ask how much it was going to cost to have the ductwork replaced, but the question didn’t really matter. I knew that I needed new ductwork, and I was going to have it replaced regardless of what it cost. It took a couple of days to have all of the ductwork replaced and I stayed with my mom while it was being done. We had a great visit, but I was glad to go home and find that my HvAC system was once again working perfectly.
