In my house, having to call an HVAC technician equates to literally the worst possible thing that you can do.
- I hate calling the HVAC technician, and I avoid calling the HVAC technician at all possible costs.
However, in the last few years, I have learned that calling an HVAC technician earlier can result in cheaper bills and fewer visits from the HVAC technician in the future. I didn’t use to be like this. When I heard a funny noise or a weird problem in my furnace, I would ignore the problem. I absolutely refused to call the HVAC technician until my furnace actually stopped working. Whenever you have to call an HVAC technician, you are going to have to spend a lot of money, so I would avoid calling them. However, when the HVAC technician talked to me a few years ago, he started asking if I had heard any funny noises from my furnace months earlier. I confirmed that I had. The HVAC technician then told me that if I would have called him then, I could have saved hundreds of dollars on the furnace repair. Sometimes, calling the HVAC technician earlier can save money in the long run. I still don’t like calling the HVAC technician, but if I notice something weird, I don’t hesitate to call now. If having the HVAC technician over more often actually saves me money, then that is something that I definitely want to do. The only reason that I avoid calling the HVAC technician in the first place is the money problem.
