Going on a camping trip

Depending upon where you live, you may encounter some beautiful, but potentially dangerous wildlife, such as bears, wolves, and mountain lions.

For some people, a camping trip is the ultimate getaway. It is a good way to break the monotony of everyday life. Seeing the great outdoors is something to behold, and can create long lasting memories. When you think of camping, you probably think of roasting marshmallows around a fire, telling spooky stories, sleeping in a tent, and hiking through the woods. But before you hurry off to pack your things, there is some preparation to be done. Remember the woods doesn’t have all the familiar comforts of home. Therefore common luxuries we are used to will need to be packed and prepared. One such thing is air conditioning, we are so used to always having the air conditioner in our homes to calm our heating woes that we take it for granted and may forget that out in the forest we don’t have these luxuries. The same applies to sitting in our house all cozy and warm, thanks to the heat from the furnace. If you plan to go camping it is recommended you plan what season to take your trip in, check your local weather forecast, and plan accordingly. When it comes to camping you’re going to want to bring some protection. Depending upon where you live, you may encounter some beautiful, but potentially dangerous wildlife, such as bears, wolves, and mountain lions. Ideal protection from wildlife would be one or more of the following, bear repellent, a gun, and a good and sturdy tent. Speaking of tents, you should know how to correctly pitch a tent before setting out into the woods. For sleeping purposes, I advise a sleeping bag or air mattress. All in all good planning is the key to a safe but fun and memorable camping trip.
