When my central heating and air conditioning system bit the dust a few months ago, I was thinking I could be slick and actually repair it.
- I took it upon myself to try to do this without the aid of the local heating and air conditioning contractor.
I do know a few things myself about heating and air conditioning repair as I took some HVAC repair courses when I was in college. However I never got my HVAC certification. When I closely evaluated the central heating and air conditioning system and checked every single avenue of it, I found that it was beyond repair and that I had no choice what so ever other than to invest in a new central heating and air conditioning system. With my tail between my legs so to speak, I called the local heating and cooling contractor to inquire about what kind of heating and air conditioning systems they had available. The heating and air conditioning contractor seemed to have a really basic heating and air conditioning system that would suit my needs and not break the bank, so I ordered that one. It took about 2 weeks to come in. Once it did, the heating and cooling contractor called me to set up the HVAC installation appointment. The heating and cooling system took about 3 hours to install which was pretty fast, and I was all set with a brand new HVAC unit for my nice and comfy home. If you have an HVAC unit that is over 10 years old, I would consider replacing it at that point.
