I can remember growing up in the 1970’s.
Things were so much different than they are today.
Some for the better and some for the worst. The better was that life and people were much more relaxed and had something called ethics. A thing that is missing in today’s society highly. But the bad thing was the heating and air conditioning technology we had back then. It was nothing like the heating and air conditioning technology that they have today. Also, central heating and air conditioning systems were quite a new thing on the HVAC market. And they were so expensive at that time, that the only people who actually had central heating and air conditioning systems in their homes were those who were either wealthy or well off with lots of money and a super great six figure income job. We were just a middle class modern family of the era, so we had a gas furnace for our heating and one huge window air conditioning unit that took care of the air conditioning in the living room area, and we had mini window air conditioning units in each bedroom for when we slept. I consider myself lucky that we had the window air conditioning units in the bedrooms. Most of my friends at the time were from families that could only afford the big window air conditioning unit for downstairs. If it was too hot to sleep in their bedrooms they had to sleep downstairs in the living room like a sleepover type situation. I am so glad that today we have much better heating and air conditioning technology!
