Working from home and upgrading to zoned heating and cooling

Due to the recent health threats from covid, our company has made adjustments so that I now labor from home, then i confess to being thrilled with this development; Because I don’t need to battle traffic to get to work, I can get up a little later in the days.

I can spend the day in our pajamas and I’m available if our kids need me! While I work, I listen to our favorite tunes and drink tea.

I’ve discovered that I’m far more productive and happier, and however, I needed to make some substitutes to the home’s heating and cooling system. When our entire family was out of the home for the day, we’d adjust the thermostat to conserve energy, but now that I’m at home, the heating/cooling plan has to labor a lot harder. It seemed silly to pay substantial energy bills to keep the whole home comfortable when we’re only using a couple of rooms, and the kids are participating in a long-distance reading program. I’m laboring from our living room. I contacted a local Heating as well as Air Conditioning company and asked about updating to zoned control. I was a little distraught that this would be a easily invasive and luxurious project. Instead, the task was completed in a single afternoon. The company installed a series of valves into the air duct that regulates airflow. These valves are controlled by independent thermostats located in each of the rooms. Because the thermostats offer wireless linkivity, I can make adjustments and set up programs through an app on our smartphone. I have set things up so that only the rooms we’re using are getting targeted with heating or cooling, however every one of us haven’t sacrificed comfort and yet I’ve reduced the workload on the a/c and gas furnace. I’ve also significantly reduced our biweekly energy bills.
