I was floored by what a sieve my new home was
I like gadgets. I feel I have been this way as far back as I can remember. It must have had a lot to do with my dad because he was consistently tinkering with stuff. And all that tinkering led dad to possess a bunch of gadgets. He would even go after something like our HVAC unit with some of his gadgets. I can remember him doing this while my mother picked up the phone and called the HVAC specialists. My dad was unafraid to take stuff apart but he couldn’t always put them back together again. This gadget habit he passed down to me just came in handy. I obtained a temperature gun years ago for something that I can’t even recall. Well, we moved about a year ago to a location that is much colder in the winter. The two of us got here in the middle of a very cold winter and just dealt with the HVAC system being on all the time because we really didn’t know better. Not this year, I know there is no real reason for the HVAC system to run as much as it did. The HVAC component is pretty new and has been checked out by the heating and air conditioning people. The problem was the house. But, I actually had the tool that could help me rectify that situation. The temp gun and I started creeping around our house in the evening. I was floored by what a sieve my new home was. The heated air was just pouring out of my house. Needless to say, I have a bunch of sealing up to do.
