I’m actually not the genre of person who is known to be sociable.
Sporadically when I see people that I know, I walk the other way or pretend that I can’t see them.
Sporadically when I am supposed to meet new people, I pretend that I am sick so I do not have to engage in the unnecessary small talk. This is why I get pretty worried when it comes to seeing my significant other’s family on a regular basis. I don’t want her parents to don’t like me, even though I also don’t want to spend time with them. I was seriously ecstatic the other month when I accidentally wound up bonding with my father-in-law while every one of us were in one of our required visits. It turns out, central heating, cooling, and air quality control systems can be an excellent icebreaker for hard relationships. I found this out in the best way when every one of us sat down for brunch and I could barely concentrate on my food thanks to the over abundant heating in the room. It felt prefer every one of us were standing in the middle of a blacktop in the dead of Summer. I have no plan how their central heating method was so powerful, however it was sweltering inside the house. As I attempted to eat my hot meal, I couldn’t stop covered in sweat. But I held my mouth shut about the control unit settings so no one was insulted by my Heating and A/C preferences. Finally, when the women got up to prepare dessert, I mentioned something about the heat to my father in law as I fanned my face. That’s when he erupted with enthusiasm and told myself and others that he hated the air quality control settings too. Apparently, his fiance was the mastermind behind the control unit settings. For the rest of the brunch, every one of us exchanged knowing looks and escaped into the freezing relief of Winter weather as soon as possible.
