My aunt should have listened to me.

When I found out about my aunt passing away, I was really upset.

She was my favorite older person and I always enjoyed talking to her.

I liked being able to have chats and I learned so much from her. The last couple times I was at her house, I knew there had to be something wrong with her HvAC system. I noticed the air quality was getting worse every time I visited. I had offered to change the air filters for her, but she said it wasn’t necessary. As soon as she could afford to buy new air filters, she promised to get them and then I could change it. The last time I was there, within ten minutes, I had a pounding headache. I told her I thought it was from her HvAC system. She said that was nonsense since she lived there full-time and she didn’t have headaches. I noticed that she wasn’t looking well and I was hoping it wasn’t from the furnace. She had an old gas furnace. If she didn’t have the air filters changed regularly, I knew that it could cause her to have a clog in the ductwork. If clogs formed in gas furnaces, it put stress on the furnace. The heat exchanger could crack which would allow the furnace to put out carbon monoxide. This was an odorless, tasteless, and colorless gas that was deadly. When I found out that is what killed my aunt, I was devastated. I felt like her death was partially my fault for not insisting she call the HVAC company and have her furnace repaired and get new air filters.
