Keep HVAC repair at bay with preventive maintenance

The fact of the matter is HVAC repairs can get seriously expensive.

This is why I try to do all I can to avoid it at every turn.

My friends and colleagues often laugh and point because I have the HVAC people out seasonally to service the HVAC. It gets pointed out that I am wasting my money and that HVAC maintenance is just a scam. This is puzzling to me. If you spend just a half hour online researching HVAC maintenance, the data sure proves that it is very valuable. The modern HVAC is really impressive and has lots of delicate parts working in unison to do the heating & cooling. No tune ups or maintenance is a sure fire way to a big repair bill at some point. HVAC units that don’t get at least yearly service will fail 7 years earlier than those that are cared for. Our HVAC has been running for 10 years without a single HVAC repair. Not one of any kind. I also do my part to be sure that I am taking care of the VHAC in an effort to increase longevity. I change the air filter every 30 days. I also walk around the house to make sure all the vents are open and unobstructed. It doesn’t really take all that much time or money to ensure the health of the HVAC. All it takes is some common sense, paying a bit of attention and preventive maintenance. If a homeowner can do the minimum, they can have their HVAC unit around a long time.
