My mom is moving in but she loves her A/C

My mom is moving in with us at the beginning of next year.

  • We’ve been talking about having her move in with us for a while now, but of course we all have a little bit of trepidation when we think about actually carrying out that plan.

We just aren’t sure about how it will end up working out in the long run. What if we drive each other crazy? I don’t know if it’s really the greatest idea in the world. I mean, I love my mom, but there are some things that we really disagree on. The main thing that we always seem to have problems with is the temperature setting on the thermostat system. See, my mom is one of those people who is just about always hot. I don’t know if she just has hot blood or what, but ever since I can remember, she just really likes to complain about the indoor air quality of whatever room she happens to be in at the moment. In the house she’s been living in, she has been keeping the air conditioning set to about 64 degrees years round. The woman likes it cold, that is for sure! Now, my husband and I are not this way at all. We like to keep the A/C at around 72 during the summer and in the winter, we keep the heating system set at 73 most of the time. I just don’t know if my mom will be able to stand it in our house. I told her that we just don’t like cold temperatures the way that she does, but she said that she will just keep the windows open in her room if she gets too hot. I’m not sure that’s going to be very cost effective when it comes to our winter heating bills, though!
