If you ask me, it’s worth the extra money that you might have to pay to put a HEPA air filter in your HVAC system.
I used to be one of those people who thought that all air filters were created equal.
I would go into the home improvement store and make my way over to the HVAC supply aisle. Then I would stand there and basically make fun of all of the people who were buying the expensive air filters like HEPA filters because I thought that the cheap air filters that I was getting were going to work exactly the same way and just as well as the HEPA filters. I would grab the cheap air filters that I needed for my HVAC system and then I’d go home and install it myself. Well, the older I got and the more I read about indoor air quality and the importance of it to your health, the more I started to think that maybe I was making a mistake by buying cheap air filters to use in my house. I read a couple of different articles about how air filters can really help the indoor air quality in your house and that’s when I decided that maybe I should try to start using HEPA air filters after all. Anyway, I finally started buying HEPA filters for my heating and cooling system and it’s made a whole lot of difference for the indoor air quality in my house. I think that the HEPA filters are actually well worth the extra cost when it comes right down to it.
