From time to time I have to admit that I haven’t entirely trusted professionals of any stripe.
I have experienced situations where a professional has let me down in such a fundamental way.
This had the effect of making me question the very basis of professionalism in general. I have been misdiagnosed by doctors and had lawyers drop the ball. This makes me kind of lose a bit of faith if I’m going to be completely honest. However, I have faith in a certain group of professionals to get it right every time. And those certified pros are the HVAC technicians who work on my heating & cooling equipment. Recently, that faith was put to the test. Our HVAC tech came out to do the pre-winter HVAC check and maintenance. It turns out that there is something wrong with a very elemental part of the HVAC. This will require a repair and not an inexpensive one. This comes at a tough time for us. We are dealing with less income due to the pandemic, so we are going to have to dip into the savings on this one. But thankfully, our HVAC took such great care of us this summer. Plus, it’s just such a fundamental part of my family’s comfort and welfare. So much so that I didn’t even hesitate to make the HVAC repair appointment. I know for sure that if our HVAC people say there is a problem which needs attention, then that is good enough for us. It may be more expensive but the only people looking after our HVAC are the professionals.
