I’m happy that I got my air conditioner fixed right before the first summer heat wave

We’re supposed to get highs in the upper 90s next week, so I wanted to get my air conditioner working before we get to that point

I installed ceiling fans last year to help during the intense summertime heat. Now that I’m working from home completely, I can’t take advantage of the air conditioners at the office any longer. The ceiling fans are great and circulating air flow from one room to the next, as well as increasing the air current that hits your skin. You can take whatever cold air leaving the ceiling vents and blast it around the room. Unfortunately, whenever the air conditioner isn’t running, the air being moved by the fan is warm. Unless you’re running the air conditioner all of the time, fans aren’t the easiest fix for problems with indoor heat. Still, they’re a definite step in the right direction. They’re also a cost effective modification that a large number of people can afford for their homes. I also box fans throughout the house. Sometimes I leave them in doorways to rooms, while at night I like to put them in open windows if there’s a cool breeze outside. I was using them a lot recently when my air conditioner stopped working. I had to call the heating and cooling supplier to send out a technician to fix it before the first summer heat wave. We’re supposed to get highs in the upper 90s next week, so I wanted to get my air conditioner working before we get to that point. Thankfully my HVAC technician only needed to put in a new evaporator coil, which only took a few hours in the afternoon yesterday. Thanks to my HVAC tech, I have a working air conditioner heading into the worst summer weather.
