I got short-changed for my HVAC work

You think I’m proud about getting into a fist fight with my Aunt Petunia? Of course I’m not proud of it, and I don’t think she is proud of herself, either.

  • I’m just glad cooler heads prevailed and no one decided to press charges.

A few cuts and bruises are one thing, but snitching to the cops is another thing entirely! The problem was that she was holding out on me, not paying me my fair share, and it was more about the principle than about the money… although it was about the money, too. I am a certified HVAC technician, and that’s how I pay my bills, and Aunt Petunia is a crook. She has a new revenue stream where she is stealing truckloads of HVAC and then reselling it for cheap. Of course HVAC equipment doesn’t move or install itself, so she needs me to set it up for the clients. To be clear, I am not stealing anything, I am just getting paid off the books for legit HVAC installation jobs, that’s all! Aunt Petunia gets paid from the client, and then after the HVAC equipment is delivered I show up to install it. I come to find out she has another HVAC tech she has been using as well, and this guy is getting paid more than I am! Being a crook and robbing HVAC trucks is one thing, but lying to your own flesh and blood and short-changing them on a payout is a sign of low character. I guess I should stick to my legal HVAC work from now on.
