This past year, our HVAC company has done so well that our boss decided to pay for all of us to go on a cruise.
- Now given, it was a budget cruise, but it still was really nice.
Now seeing as we were all HVAC professionals, the captain of the boat begged us to repair his HVAC in his personal cabin. He said if we did this for him, he would give us an additional $200 each in credit to gamble at the casino onboard. Well, we all thought that sounded wonderful and we went for it. We had his A/C system working so fast, he couldn’t even believe it. He thanked us and said drinks were on the house too and he laughed like crazy. The joke was that the drinks were free anyway, they came with the package! It still was nice to have some funds for the casino though. I hit the black jack tables and ended up winning big. My other HVAC buddies on the other hand, didn’t do so great at either the poker table or the slot machines. Still, everybody had a great time and we all met some pretty interesting people on the cruise ship, it was quite the experience. I was saying to the guys when we were heading back that we should make this a yearly tradition, going on a cruise together regardless of how well we do each year. Everybody agreed and said it sounded like a wonderful idea. We deserve this kind of vacation from time to time.
