When I went away on a supplier trip last weekend, I left my husband with a list.
There was a list of food items along with a meal plan for him, a list of chores, & a list of basic household things that he should be aware of.
I know he’s a grown guy who can take care of himself, however the mom in me wanted to make sure that he was well prepared. But there was something that I forgot to tell him about & that was our control equipment settings. We have a new smart thermostat control & it controls our air conditioner during the Summer for us. We know that it’s being run as efficiently as possible. But for some reason, I was the only one who downloaded the corresponding app on my phone when the thermostat equipment was installed. This means that I’m the only person who has control over the settings via my iPhone. I’m the only one with all of the smart thermostat control equipment settings, too. We keep it locked up just so our teenage children won’t change the temperature settings, and as soon as my iPhone left the property, the smart control equipment recognized this & turned our A/C unit off. The smart control equipment didn’t know that I was on a trip but no one else was. It thought that I was just going to work and therefore, I didn’t need as much cool air to keep me comfortable. My poor husband didn’t realize what was happening until it was too late. I was already on our flight & the house was way too hot! When I landed, I had 10 missed calls!
