My mom told me that I had to get a summer job this year when high school was over. I didn’t have any plans to start college in September, so I had to look for a job. I placed several applications at places around town like restaurants, grocery stores, and the Supercenter. I also put an application in at the amusement park. They had an advertisement in the newspaper and they were looking for people to work in the restaurant. I thought it could be fun to work at the amusement park in the restaurant, so I filled out an application in the main office. A couple of days after I filed my application, I received a telephone call from the manager of the amusement park. She wanted me to come down to the part for an interview. We spoke for almost an hour on that day, but after the interview was over, she gave me a job. I started work the next day. I was ready and willing to do any job. I certainly didn’t expect to be assigned to an amusement park ride. I thought I was hired to work in the restaurant. Instead, I ended up working at one of the roller coasters. I was hoping to spend all day in the cold AC, but I have to work in the heat and humidity. One of my friends got hired to work in the restaurant. He is serving burgers and fries inside the building and he doesn’t have to worry about the heat. He is perfectly happy working inside with the AC. I wanted a job and I got one. I guess I should be happy even if I don’t have any AC.
