My boss was really angry about the speeding ticket

I have lived in the same apartment for the past 10 years.

I always take the same route home in the afternoon when work is over.

The drive is automatic. Sometimes I look up from the steering wheel and I have driven 15 miles. I don’t remember passing any red lights or exit signs, but I end up at home safe and sound. I was on my way home from an HVAC repair. I had the work truck that evening, because I was the emergency service on call over the weekend. I didn’t realize my speed was increasing and I never looked at the speedometer until I saw the flashing blue and red lights behind my repair truck. I was going 73 at the time I was pulled over. The speed limit on the highway was 55. I asked the cop to give me a warning, but he refused. He gave me a $200 ticket for speeding. I couldn’t hide the ticket from my boss. Since the HVAC repair trucks are covered under the company insurance, I knew it was necessary to tell my boss that I was pulled over by the state police and issued a citation. When I went to work on Monday, I told him about the speeding ticket. He was really angry and he made me work with someone else that day. He told me that I wasn’t going to be able to drive the repair truck until I learned how to be responsible behind the wheel. He would not let me drive until I paid the speeding ticket.
