I was talking to my pretty good friend this last week, and she asked if I had seen the advertisement on the television.
We were essentially talking about who both of us were taking to the supplier Christmas gathering, and somehow it turned into a conversation about what was on cable.
I expected her to say something about it being something she wished to have for Christmas, however I was completely wrong. She had seen a half hour infomercial for a local HVAC supplier. It was an infomercial that fictionalized all the disasters that could possibly happen in your residence, because of faulty heating machines. She asked me if I knew I could actually die in my sleep if my oil heating machine malfunctioned. I laughed when she said she was going to call the HVAC machine supplier and have them assess the heating machine in her residence. If there was anything wrong with the heating machine, she was going to have them install something new. It was apparent that this infomercial entirely had her distraught. I had never heard such powerful fear in her voice, other than when she thought she was going to be going to the Christmas gathering separate from having a date. She asked me if I could easily suggest an HVAC supplier she could call to make the appointment she needed. I asked if she had written down the name and number of the HVAC machine supplier who had done the infomercial. She hung up and got a hold of the HVAC supplier and reported back that they would be at the residence that afternoon. I’m sure that everything will be good with her oil furnace, however if she’ll feel safer having it assessed, then I am more than happy that she is making the call.
