When I purchased the house during winter, I didn’t realize that the central air conditioner wasn’t working

After getting evicted from my previous house for reasons that were not my fault, I was in immediate need of purchasing a home.

  • I quickly began calling landlords and realtor groups to find a house that I could purchase, considering I had saved enough money and raised my credit score.

I found a house in my budget that I thought was decent, and I made the purchase immediately. I didn’t have time to get anything inspected, including the HVAC units. The furnace looked newer and was working when I got there, and I was also pleased that the house had a central air conditioner. I didn’t think much of it, because it was in the middle of winter, and there was no need to turn on the air conditioner. Now that I am a few months into my purchase, I regret not waiting a few hours to test the air conditioner. The central air conditioner that was at my new house doesn’t work, and it hasn’t worked in a long time. The realtor forgot to mention that when I was purchasing my house, and she knew that I wasn’t going to have an HVAC technician inspect it. Now, after calling an HVAC technician and having them inspect my central air conditioner, they told me that it was a repair that should have been done years ago, and it would be cheaper in the long run to purchase a new central air conditioner. I was furious because I believed that the realtor overcharged me! I am going to have to live with window air conditioners for now.
