My brother Jordan just got his first apartment in a immense city! It is a nice 2 bedroom spot that comes with a balcony and an amazing view of a nearby park, and he enjoys living in the city.
His apartment is perfect for him.
It’s fantastic that he has the extra room so that when I visit, I have somewhere to sleep comfortably. Unluckyly, he mentioned that it doesn’t come with air conditioner, which is normal for the city that he lives in. Most of the buildings were built before central air was normal for homes, and several of them don’t have the room to install ductwork to supply heating and cooling! Furthermore, it would be expensive to install Heating and A/C inside those buildings, so most apartments don’t offer cooling as part of the agreement. I requested that my brother purchase a window air conditioner for his apartment, so that in the Summer, it will be comfortable to sleep. I know that I need to have air conditioning when I sleep, so if he doesn’t have that I won’t be able to stay overnight in his apartment. I live in a different state than Jordan, and most if not all our homes have heating and cooling, so this is never a complication for me while I am home. In fact, when Jordan comes to visit me, he enjoys having the air conditioner, so I am surprised that he has not yet bought one for himself. I plan on visiting the city during the Summer. I hope that my brother purchases his air conditioning by then.
