In a wonderful town, I live in a small beach house with two bedrooms.
It’s pretty quiet here, and the neighbors all respect each other.
A lot of restaurants are nearby and there are lots of things to do, so we don’t have to leave the neighborhood to have fun. I prefer living alone. One of the benefits of living alone is that I can use my HVAC system however I like. During my three years of living with a roommate, we constantly argued about heating and cooling. The beach house was kept extremely hot in the Winter by her, even though I preferred not to use the heat at all. Since I can’t sleep in a room that’s too hot, I did what I could to keep cool, including opening my bedroom window. In hindsight, we should have invested in smart temperature control. Unfortunately, we didn’t. Since I live alone, I can control how I cool and heat my house. On some Winter evenings when the temperature drops below normal, I do use the heat. However, I don’t need to heat my entire house, so I bought a small space heater to use in my bedroom or living room. Space heating systems come in so many varieties, and the one I have has a programmable temperature control and a built-in timer with a cut-off switch. As a result, I feel safe using this space heater, and the best part is that I don’t have to use my HVAC during the Winter.
