I know how expensive HVAC repairs can be.
I had my furnace break down a couple of years ago, and I needed an emergency repair. Even if it hadn’t been an emergency repair, the cost was staggering. Here I was, three years later, and the same problem was happening. I called the HVAC company and told them about the lack of heat and airflow, and they sent an HVAC technician to the house. I knew they would tell me to have the ductwork cleaned, but I was more worried about the furnace. The HVAC technician told me that if this happened again, I would probably need a new furnace. I knew how expensive a new furnace could be. I was hoping it would be a cheap repair and the furnace was still in good condition. Unfortunately, my hopes were dashed. I was having the same problem as before, and this time it couldn’t be repaired. The HVAC technician said he could keep it running until we got a new furnace and had it installed, but he couldn’t promise much more than a week or two. I was so upset that I told him my husband would soon be home, and he could explain it to him. My husband shrugged and told him to do what had to be done. We couldn’t go without a furnace, so we didn’t really have a choice. We sat down and picked out our new furnace and two weeks later it was delivered and installed. I was holding my breath the entire time, praying the old furnace would last until the new one was installed.
