It has become like some sort of mantra.
Each time I go around the corner of my house, I ask the heavens for one more year.
My outdated HVAC unit has to get me through one more year before I have enough money to buy the replacement. Just looking at the HVAC system makes me shudder. It is original equipment on the house we are in. It has to be at least 25 years old. The thing looks so out of place compared to all the new generation of HVAC units. The HVAC guy who does the maintenance is amazed the thing is still running. He doesn’t have real high hopes for my one more year idea. But, he is doing everything he can to help me get to that goal. All the bad signs are there for imminent HVAC collapse. The utility bill has gone up dramatically over the last few years. But, it is getting worse because the thing seems to run all the time just to catch up. I even think I detect a slight shimmy to the condenser unit while the HVAC is running. This can’t be good. Just recently, the HVAC has been tripping the breaker. I looked this up and this is a really bad sign. I know the end is near for the old HVAC unit. However, we are almost there. I may be asking too much for the thing to get through another summer. I hate paying the extra money in utilities but our HVAC replacement fund still needs some time. I’ll just keep praying the thing is able to make it.
