We were beginning to have a lot of problems with our home and my wife and I were giving some serious thought as to whether we wanted to continue living in our home, or purchase a new one. We opted to put our home on the market and move. We had already spent a fortune on the house and we weren’t ready to put more into this house. We had our floors redone and we repainted the entire downstairs. We had a new roof put on the house. No matter what we did to make sure the house was ready for buyers, whenever someone came to look at the house, they wouldn’t even walk through the front door. We knew it had to do with our air quality and the fact that our home had a terrible odor. The realtor told us that we had to consider installing a new ductwork system and HVAC system. The house smelled like dead animals. I called the HVAC company to check out the heating, air conditioning and the ductwork. I was surprised to hear that we needed all three and possibly even an air purifier to rid the house of the smell. It didn’t take long to decide that we were going to have the work done. We had already chosen our new home and the realtor insisted that after we installed the new HVAC system, we could add twice the cost onto our selling price. We knew that if we could recoup that much, it was well worth the cost to get out from under this money pit.
