It’s a feeling of excitement and anticipation.
But, it is also weird and a bit uncomfortable that something is leaving for good. These feelings mix to form a weird sort of experience. There is new but the old will definitely be missed. I think losing the old also is just a reminder that this world just keeps moving on. Our valiant HVAC heating and cooling system is done and the date is set for replacement. This hasn’t been any kind of sudden HVAC failure. It’s the opposite actually. Our excellent HVAC professional gave us the heads up about 2 years ago. He came out to service the unit and told us that the heating and cooling system was on its last legs. The HVAC tech felt pretty certain that we would be able to get some more use out of it before it went into the final phase of productivity. I was grateful that we were able to have time to plan the HVAC replacement. That process was actually made very easy due to one critical decision. After attempting to figure out what we needed online, I was simply out of my depth with all the HVAC information out there. Fortunately, I made the decision to call an HVAC contractor with our heating and cooling company. That man was a real professional and helped us immeasurably. He spent time measuring our house and checking the duct system. There were a few sections of ducts that had to be replaced but that was it. The HVAC contractor was able to present us with 5 viable options for replacing our HVAC. We felt great about picking the replacement. However we’re still a bit sad to see the old one go.
