All the flowers had me wheezing.

My soon-to-be husband told me we could do anything I wanted, if it would be better for me.

I had never had allergies until I hit my thirties. Suddenly, I am finding allergens everywhere I go. Last week, I was in the floral shop ordering flowers for my wedding. I started sneezing, my eyes turned red and itchy and I could barely breathe. I would have never thought I would have become allergic to flowers. I didn’t want to go without flowers at my wedding, and yet I couldn’t handle the flower shop. I called my doctor, and he told me he could give me allergy meds, but he was afraid they would make me drowsy. He gave me a shot and said it should work for a couple months. In the meantime, I worried about having flowers and ending up looking haggard because of my allergies. I talked to the minister at the church, and he assured me that they would have the air conditioning running, but they didn’t have an air purification system. He suggested I may want to try silk flowers or having the wedding and reception outside the church. I thought about having the wedding at the local park where there would be plenty of airflow, but it was getting too late to change the venue. My soon-to-be husband told me we could do anything I wanted, if it would be better for me. I went with silk flowers and kept the wedding in the church. As long as we had air conditioning, I was sure I would keep my allergies at bay. Now, all I need to worry about is all the perfumes and colognes the guests would be wearing. Is it okay to request that no one wears fragrances?
