The air purifier was supposed to arrive before my grand opening ceremony

I suppose I lost clients that would have purchased bakery goods.

I planned to open the bakery on the weekend of the 31st, although I had to reschedule until the following Friday, and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was tied up for a week. But the whole-house air purifier didn’t arrive until several days after the tied up date! I ordered the whole-house air purifier from a local heating and a/c business. They came to the bakery to take measurements of the locale so I had the right equipment to do the task officially; then every supplier needs an whole-house air purifier and order to be open while in this pandemic. I expected the equipment to be here before the opening afternoon, but it was late, however a couple days before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, I had to make a final decision. I decided to cancel the grand opening and reschedule it for the next weekend. I knew that every one of us could not open for business and supply without the whole-house air purifier or every one of us would run the risk of getting a citation from the county health department officials. A lot of people were aggravated and disappointed and several people still showed up at the time. I had to tell people the bad news and see the disappointed look on their faces. I suppose I lost clients that would have purchased bakery goods. The following weekend, I opened the doors to an actually small crowd. I suppose having to reschedule the grand opening was an awful way to introduce the supplier to the community. I’m definitely aggravated with the maintenance I received from the whole-house air purifier distributor. They should be held accountable for the delay and the small crowd on opening afternoon..
