Even though Grandma is a retired school teacher, she likes to work. She also does some investing plus she’s the owner of a small business. To make working more enjoyable, she decided to add an office to the house. There was no room in the actual house for an office, and so Grandma decided to build an addition off of the house. The construction project took forever, and so when she started in the new office, she realized that she never enjoyed working long hours in her new office. It had nice decorations and a good view and comfortable furniture, but Grandma was uncomfortable because there was no heat or air conditioning in the office. The building plans never included a connection to the central heating and air conditioning in the main part of the house because she didn’t guess she’d need it. It wasn’t until she started working in the new office that she realized just how much she needed some air vents in the office. However, Grandma didn’t want to endure even more construction at the house. It was super distracting, and so she started searching for other ways to heat plus cool the space. This is when she discovered something called a ductless mini split system. It was an energy efficient way to provide heating and cooling the small space without needing ductwork. She needed to hire a Heating, Ventilation, and A/C professional to connect it to the electricity and set it up for her. She was also given a small remote to flip between the heating and A/C plus other settings.
