The office manager moved my desk and now I’m cold

My desk used to be located in the corner of the room.

I liked working in the corner of the room, because I rarely had anyone walk by my desk.

I didn’t have a care in the world. I completed all of my work and I left at the end of my shift. A brand new office manager started working here a couple of weeks ago. The guy decided to move all of our desks. He spent an entire day making us pack all of our desk items so we could play musical chairs. The dude has a power trip and presides over us like a Russian czar. Now I am in the middle of the room directly under an air conditioner vent. The temperature on the thermostat is set at 68° and I am stuck sitting under the air conditioner vent. I asked the office manager to switch my desk with someone else, but he is convinced that the new work assignments will help us be more motivated to work harder. I think it sounds like a load of baloney. Now I spend most of my time shivering and trying to keep warm. I wear a sweater and a shirt with long sleeves, but I can’t work in a full winter parka. I’m not getting as much work done as I was in the past, so I think the office manager and his ideas aren’t worth a hill of beans. I bet the guy won’t last six months if things continue to spiral downward. I’m not the only employee upset by the new rules and procedures.
