We have decided that we are going to turn our garage into a couple of bedrooms in the near future.
We have been needing some extra space for a while now, and we finally decided that this is the easiest way to add on some space to our house. We didn’t want to have to go to all of the trouble of getting permits and worrying about the yard and stuff like that, so all of the renovation work that we are going to be doing is actually going to be done inside of the garage. Right now, we are in the middle of the planning phase and we are trying to figure out what we should do about the heating and cooling situation out there. Our garage has never had any heating or cooling in it because it wasn’t ever considered to be a living space. The only thing that has ever lived out there up until now has been our car, our lawnmower, and a couple of mice. Now, we are going to have to figure out if we want to have the HVAC company come and install ventilation ducts out there to run heating and cooling out there or if we want to put in something like a ductless mini split A/C system instead. I don’t really know what we should do, but we’re supposed to be meeting with an HVAC contractor later this week so that we can get a professional opinion. I’m excited to see the finished project, but I really can’t say that I’m looking forward to doing all of the work!
