A pressing HVAC replacement

One of the most terrible mistakes I have ever made was when I called the Heating, Ventilation & A/C business last month.

There wasn’t any heat coming from the air vents & I hadn’t heard the oil furnace operate in a couple hours.

The temperature was actually falling in the house. I decided to call the Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment supplier & told them I needed our oil furnace evaluated & repaired. The Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment worker asked me many questions & he set up an appointment to come to the house. I’m glad that I only needed to wait for a couple hours before the expert showed up at the house. The first thing the Heating, Ventilation & A/C equipment tech did was take a look at the thermostat. He told me that the first thing I should do was take a solid look at the battery. When the battery dies, the thermostat doesn’t have the ability to talk to the oil furnace & tell it when it is time to turn on or off. I was amazed to hear him say that everyone who calls for service at this time of year, usually just has a dead battery in their thermostat. He said that our complication was not the thermostat & asked where the oil heating equipment was. He was in the basement for numerous minutes and he came back upstairs. It wasn’t great news when he informed me the oil furnace needed to be updated entirely, but I felt better about the situation. At least I wasn’t a single of those people who called for service & never took a moment to check the battery in the thermostat. I had to go to a hotel for approximately 3 days while the oil furnace was being replaced, but it wasn’t horrible.
