As an Heating & Air Conditioning specialist, I get asked questions about heating & cooling by all kinds of people, then heating & cooling is one of those things that if you are not know-howable in the field, you entirely don’t think much about your heating & cooling system; It is a specialized trade, after all! One thing that my friends & family ask me is “What is the best type of heating & cooling system?” I don’t think there is one type of heating & cooling that is necessarily better than all the others, even though I usually recommend a ductless mini-split system, then recently, ductless mini-splits have become more & more popular, but people enjoy the fact that there is no HVAC duct necessary, & without HVAC duct, there can be no loss of heating & cooling due to leaky ducts! But what is truly great about the ductless mini-split is that it is extremely efficient & has low operation costs, however the program operates through a heat pump, which can both heat & cool the air.
It might be a little bit more extravagant to install than a traditional heating & cooling system, but the efficiency is well worth it, and another bonus is that the ductless mini-split allows for zoned heating & cooling.
I personally enjoy having zoned heating & cooling because I have guest rooms & areas of the modern home that I frequent less… Whenever someone asks me for a recommendation, I tell them about the ductless mini-split.
