Converting the shed to airbnb

I’ve been telling my husband that he was out of his mind for the past several years, but now I’m eating my foot.

With housing prices at an all-time high and an extremely competitive rental market, it turns out that we might actually have a money maker right in our own backyard.

Of course, I’m talking about my husband’s desire to turn our family shed into a small rental property. I thought there was no way we could make money, but apparently the tiny house industry is very strong. As such, we’ve been renovating the shed for a few months… Starting with the heating, cooling, and air quality control options. As you would imagine, a shed does not have a great amount of indoor air. This means it is extremely susceptible to being overheated or freezing cold, depending on the surrounding climate. We knew that we immediately wanted to put high quality indoor air temperature control devices in the shed before we attempted to renovate any of the structure. We went out and purchased two mini split ductless heating and cooling systems, one for the lower-level and one for the Loft area. With these two compact Heating and Cooling devices we have been surprisingly comfortable every day, no matter what the air temperature is doing outside. We have adequate air conditioning on hot days and plenty of warm air when the temperature starts to dip. I don’t know what we’re going to make on the small rental property, but I could happily live in this mini ductless air treatment setup myself.
