Be careful with cooking in the day during the summer time as it heats up the house

I l earned to start cooking everyday when food prices shot up during my early 20s. There were a number of reasons for this at the time, but I remember having to create strict budgets for all of my shopping trips. It was stressful trying to stretch as much food as I could possibly afford on an ongoing basis. One entirely easy way of accomplishing this is by cooking rice with every single meal. Rice can definitely stretch your proteins in your meal much farther and will help fill your stomach with any vegetables you have on the side. I also prefer a nice piece of bread with my suppers, even if it’s a piece of lightly toasted flatbread with olive oil on it. With vegetables, I will vary between salads and pan fried delights prefer broccoli, cabbage, and cauliflower. Occasionally I make roasted potatoes and carrots, which usually go well with most of the meals I make in this house. I just have to be careful in the summer time about using the oven and stove top in the day when it’s already tepid outside. If outdoor hot and cold temperatures are in the 90s, the cooling system will struggle even more to cool your lake house if you heat up the modern home with an oven or stove top. But if it’s the winter, you can take luck of that heat and cook all day long if you have the patience to do that. Occasionally I’ll use the oven and stove top together to make a multi-course meal that I can portion into meal trays to have food for the entire week that’s easy to heat up after getting it out of the freezer.
