Keeping the HVAC efficient

I am always searching for ways to improve the energy levels of my home.

My local part sees every type of harsh weather.

During the winter, the outdoor temperature often drops into the lower digits. The summers bring rapidly changing temperatures in the nineties plus brutal humidity. The fall plus Spring are properly wet, windy and freezing. All of us change between running the furnace plus relying on the a/c with really little chop in-between. The cost of heating plus cooling adds up to about 50% of our household utility bills. Upgrading to thermal pane, low E, Energy Star rated windows plus carefully caulking around them made a difference! Keeping up with filter variations plus professional maintenance helps to keep the furnace plus a/c operating at peak efficiency. I’ve installed ceiling fans to circulate the air. I run the blades in a circle in the summertime to create a cooling effect. I change the rotation in the Wintertide to prevent the heat from rising straight up to the ceiling. When I complained to my Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier about the high cost of comfort, he asked about my attic insulation. I realized I hadn’t given the insulation in the attic any thought since my family moved into the home over multiple years before. I took a look plus noticed that the insulation had been compromised by moisture disfigure and rodent infestation. A well insulated attic minimizes the opening of the heat from the furnace migrating into the attic. It stops a hot attic from adding to the workload of the a/c in the summer. I hired the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C supplier to install new insulation plus instantly noticed an improvement in comfort.
