Back in my glory days as a local contractor

I was doing my spring cleaning when I saw documents from the last local business I had worked for.

The papers took me down memory lane.

I had worked for the heating service provider for three decades and had achieved a lot. I started as an HVAC repairman trainee and worked my way up to the director of quality heating in the state. I remember doing heater maintenance jobs and meeting all kinds of people, some of whom were very prominent. One was one of the kindest men I have met in the business. He wanted new heating equipment. He had paid for a geo heat pump, and my team of local contractors was hired to handle the installation. I also remembered an incident where I saved a family from a house fire. We had gone to repair his portable space heater that had malfunctioned. Before we started the repairs, the unit blew up. Fortunately, no one was injured, and we rushed the family out of the house as we waited for the fire department. We later discovered that the digital thermostat had malfunctioned, messing up the other devices. I have served my city for forty years and provided heating service to thousands of residents. I am now retired and loving every minute of it. In the first year of my retirement, I traveled across the country and experienced a life I had only dreamed of until now. The heating companies would still contact me for advice on specific processes and heating devices. Even at my age, I am still learning more about HVAC since technology constantly changes. I encourage my children, who have since moved out, to apply the energy-saving help tips I give them and to continue learning more about heating.
