Exploring really old dark caves

An old hobby of mine used to be cave exploring, after multiple times of being successful at navigating my way in and out of them, I became cocky and started going without maps and very few supplies. I had multiple warnings from people not to do that, but my own arrogant mind blocked them out. Eventually a brand new cave was found near my home which called for investigation from me. This cave was completely unexplored by people, and who knew how old it was and what goods it might hold. I have found many beat artifacts from caves before. So I set off, with just a small backpack with a couple of snacks, a water bottle and a flashlight. The cave was in a vertical hole, so I used a rope to lower myself in the hole. I didn’t tell anyone that I was going cave exploring alone. I shined my flashlight in the pitch black cave, which had a cooling draft in it. I instantly felt chilly, but I ignored it. I explored until I reached the end, and turned back to go home. I tripped over a small rock and my flash flew out of my hand and disappeared in a crack in the floor. I couldn’t get it out so I was left in pitch blackness. By then it was night out and it was freezing. I tried feeling my way out while shivering and I was lost. The entire time I was thinking about how I was missing my heating system. I was freezing cold and badly wanted a furnace. Thankfully I did manage to find my way home, and I cranked up my heater all of the way, and enjoyed the heating device on a cold night. I stopped going cave exploring after that, and started enjoying my heating machine even more.
