Both of us had started shooting a movie that was expected to shut down the film industry, however both of us were working with amazing writers plus I was the assistant supervisor.
I was responsible for almost everything from the costumes to managing the talent plus making sure the set was right, however the movie was to be a crime thriller with a bit of action.
Both of us were working with A-list talent, though demanding, they were severely professional; With the pandemic going on, I had to ensure that the indoor air cleaning plan was in full service when the people I was with and I were shooting indoor scenes. I had organized a quality AC service in order for the a/c rep to substitute the air conditioning filter plus temperature control. I had the cooling install done a month prior to starting to shoot plus did the boiler repair as well since the movie would be shot during winter. The A-list actors the people I was with and I were working with had recommended a radiant gas furnace in each of their trailers. The heating supplier was kind enough to supply the heating component at a subsidized price, one of the scenes in the movie incorporated a living room with a ‘broken’ electric gas furnace plus they used a real a single for the shot, however not knowing more about Heating plus Air Conditioning, I completely failed to check on the gas furnace which evidently had cracks. A month into shooting, the cracks couldn’t hold plus they started leaking carbon monoxide, however luckily the people I was with and I had a sensor that alerted us of the awful quality of air. The set was right away shut down plus everyone was given the morning off. I contacted the repairman who later discovered that the oil gas furnace also had a leak. The issue was finally fixed plus the people I was with and I were back to filming the next morning.
