When I was an English instructor, it was obvious to me that not every student is made for college.
In spite of that, the administration was adamant that instructors should not encourage students to do anything other than college after graduation.
That really bugged most of us instructors because there is no reason for that, but the administrators did not want to make parents mad by suggesting that their smart babies might want to consider going to Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C school or plumbing school.
