I got into a bit of a situation when I rented a house, and i thought it was going to be perfect because I was getting a good deal on the rent, however then I l earned why the rent was so cheap.
It was mainly because the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C plan was terribly old & the owner of the place didn’t want to have to install a current Heating, Ventilation, & A/C system; He just had it worked on yearly & that was that.
I told him a few times the Heating, Ventilation, & A/C plan needed to be updated however he wouldn’t listen; So I started using space heating systems around the house, then unluckyly, I was a little careless about the portable heaters, however they did supply a lot of extra comfort while in the winter; Well, regrettably I fell asleep & my blanket caught on fire since it was too close to the space heater. I knocked the flaming blanket off myself and others & ran to safety. I wish there was a fire extinguisher in the home however there wasn’t, so I didn’t have a good way to put out the fire. I really should have bought a fire extinguisher thinking back on the situation; The landlord blamed myself and others for the fire, although I told him it wasn’t my fault. I also got on his case saying that he should have just updated the old central Heating, Ventilation, & A/C & I would never have had to get those space heaters. I guess in some situations, you just have to learn the hard way. The good news was that he had fire insurance so his lake home was built new, & they installed a sufficient Heating, Ventilation, & A/C plan that was refurbished, so I believe he actually won out on the whole deal.
