What type of heater do you want?

When it comes to heating, there are a lot of choices out there.

First, there are three different types of furnaces to pick from.

You can do gas, electric and oil. There are pros and cons of each obviously. With a gas based heater you are getting a difficult installation process with possible safety hazards. However, a gas furnace is probably the most common type of heater and is easier to find service for. It is not an invasive unit and gas isn’t that pricey. Electric heaters break the bank with the cost. It is pricey to use electricity to heat your home but 100% of what you pay is being used to heat the home unlike fuel that burns and churns. An oil based heater actually burns a hotter flame. However, you have an on site oil tank and are reliant on oil deliveries. Don’t like the sound of a boiler? No problem! There are also boiler systems that most homes use. A boiler can be hooked up to radiators or baseboards. You can also attach piping to the boiler and have it laid underneath the floorboards for radiant heating. This type of system doesn’t allow the heat to rise to the ceilings and get wasted. It is also quiet, energy smart and heats all objects that touch it. A heat pump system additionally can provide heating. You also get a cooling system with this unit. You can choose a ductless model and enjoy zone control in your household as well. The downside to this extremely efficient system is simply cost. You pay to have AC and to cut down on your energy bills each month right off the get go.
