Our son has always been pretty lazy growing up.
We always had to yell at him numerous times just for him to do his regular chores like changing the air filter for the HVAC system. I thought chores like changing the air filter were fair, especially since that kind of job is so easy. I mean I took care of the more crucial things like cleaning the outdoor A/C condenser unit. Of course, our son has always been very talented as well. He picks up things like it’s nothing. He learned how to play the piano and it was easy for him. He also picked up on playing the guitar. He always enjoyed playing his music while relaxing with the A/C system cranking. When he moved out on his own, I was proud that he was going to a good school. I warned him to take good care of his HVAC but he neglected it. When the HVAC system failed on him, he said he would just install a new HVAC system. I told him he had to be a professional to do something like that and he laughed and said that was nonsense. He said that anybody could do any job as long as they learned how to do it. I still insisted he was wrong but he chose to prove me wrong. He ordered a new ductless mini-split and he installed the thing after it arrived. He even made an installation video that he posted online and he sent me a link so I could watch it. While he was kind of rubbing it all in my face, I was still proud of him for being able to do such good work.
